I’m looking forward to creating some podcasts with this year’s group of kids. I already have some thoughts running around in my mind about how to include the podcasts.

Hey hey! want in on the action! lol where do you sign up for the “podcast comitee” or how do you get on it??? lol…

I’m going to announce the podcasts maybe next week. I’ll keep you in mind.
Yeah…VoiceThreads are great!! I’ve used them before, but I just didn’t find time to use them this year. I’ll have to put it on my list for next year.
This is an example of how traditional podcasting could be replaced….no software required…just a mic:

Audacity is the best free option that I can find out there. We’re using that as well. For Macs, I would use Garage Band.
Sounds good…we’ll keep in touch.
By the way….what program do you use? Right now I have something called Audacity.
Here is a good resource to get started with podcasting, but I’m sure there is more information out there.

I’ve found success with the podcasts by having a “podcasting committee” made up of a few students. They recorded their segments on their own. When they finished, I simply added my two cents and the music.
I did check out your website. It looks great. It looks like we’re teaching some of the same material. Maybe we can collaborate on something next year.

I like your idea of kids doing podcasts about what they learned for the week. I’d like to do something like that.
I also run into problems of only having a handful of kids visit my website. To get more traffic i sometimes offer extra credit, put up review games, and sometimes funny things related to the content.
If you want, check my website out at:

found a link that would maybe work the videos are in segments not just the whole episode. Here you go.
